AEW Collision finally made its return on June 27, 2026. The show was nothing short of spectacular; with a packed show that was the final countdown to the Forbidden Door pay-per-view event. It was a show that had an all-out championship fight, international stars and major plot lines heading into the biggest pay-per-view cross over of the summer.

Even with the inclusion of high octane wrestling, personal feuds and the attraction of the titles, there was a feel this was one of the most hyped Collisions in recent weeks. Their team of The Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong was an experienced and technically skilled one that could adjust to any competitors. On the other hand, The Opps were a bit more unique, possessing power, a hard-nosed mentality and a deadly striking skill.

Another highlight was the woman’s tag team match with Mercedes Mon and Athena. Both women have been considered two of the best in the business so this match was one of the most anticipated of the night. Their opponents were Maya World and Hyan who wanted to go into Forbidden Door with a big win.

We had the TNT Championship match, which really was a huge, was that the reason was huge for that match was because title matches on go home shows tend to never… There are always moments.

Chris Jericho got the night underway with a sound singles win against JD Drake. Drake showed off his strength and toughness during the match but Jericho used his experience to maneuver the match into his favor in the latter stages of the bout.

Once again, Jericho was victorious in Salem allowing him to continue rolling in to one of the biggest nights of the year for AEW.

Mistico & Mike Bailey def. Tony Nese & Ari Daivari

Mistico and Mike Bailey joined forces to face off with Tony Nese & Ari Daivari in another high-quality tag match.,6.

The action, which was fast paced with a lot of athletic offense and near pinfalls, was a good back and forth. Mistico and Bailey worked well with each other and as a team, working quick and sharp to win at the end.

Kevin Knight Retained the AEW TNT Championship

Kevin Knight went to battle with Am sensation Dezmond Xavier in what was one of the night ‘s most competitive and hard-fought title matches as he successfully defended the AEW TNT Championship.

Xavier took advantage of several opportunities to win the title, but the champion Knight held steady and remained under control whenever he was tested. His perseverance and calculated offense allowed him to walk away still the champion, maintaining the momentum of his excellent championship reign before heading into Forbidden Door.

Persephone Retained the CMLL Women’s World Championship

This time saw Persephone successfully defend the CMLL Women’s World Title against Billie Starkz in a hard hitting contest.

Billie Starks gave the defending champion a real fight with her will-power and tactical offense but her opponent was able to make big plays in the final minutes and hang on until the end.

Confirmed yet again, the international relationship is something being put forward everyday in AEW programming.

Mercedes Mon & Athena def. Maya World & Hyan

Two of the night’s most hyped matches saw Mercedes Monand Athena team up to take onmaya Worldand Hyan.

The match was a showcase of technical wrestling and athletic counters combined with the heavy hitting of all three teams. Mind, Athena and Mon combined athletically to dominate most of the match before Mon and Athena finished Athena off with her power.

Despite the celebration after the match by the winning team, the bitter feud was still alive in the run up to Forbidden Door.

The Conglomeration Retained the AEW World Trios Championship

In the main event, The Conglomeration put the AEW World Trios Championship on the line against The Opps.

Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly used their technical knowledge, polished experience and solid team work, throughout the match. Their opponents provided the champions with relentless physical offense and their own strong teamwork, making for one of the best contests of the night.

Another exciting close call in the bank vault during a dramatic congested fall was successful again, The Conglomeration having successfully defended the titles yet again at the end of the show.

Most of the contests drew a lot of attention on the show.

Mercedes Mon and Athena had their first steps toward runaway champions with a huge tag team win prior to competing at Forbidden Door.

Kevin Knight proved once again he’s a man to reckon with by successfully defending his TNT Title against dogged opponent.

The Conglomeration rounded out the night by defending the AEW World Trios Championship in a highly entertaining main event-more teamwork, fortitude, and quality wrestling.

What Does This Mean Going Into Forbidden Door?

This episode of June 27 pulled it off. Getting the fans ready for the event, indeed.

After defining victories by the champions and ongoing angle advancement by other contenders, this pay-per-view entered with a bit of a momentum and the general tone of the show was excellent wrestling and development. There was plenty to look forward to on future PPV cards.
