Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS) was back at its home base in Las Vegas for week 2 of the historic 10th season on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Prospects have to prove to Dana White and the UFC that they possess the finishing power, presence, character and potential to be a UFC-caliber fighter.
Another interesting group of prospects on Season 10, Week 2, because there were a number of fighters coming back to the Contender Series after losing in previous stints. It made the already pressure cooker even hotter. There were fighters with solid regional records, unblemished prospects, and a few coming off big wins outside the UFC.
The main event was Namo Fazil versus Kaik Brito a welterweight clash. In the co-main event, middleweights Douglas Rodrigues versus Trent Miller. The rest of the card consisted of: lightweight Logan Paxton versus Cristian Perez, light heavyweight Alik Lorenz versus Mahamed Aly and featherweights Roman Puga versus Taner Trembley.

That history really made the main fight a fascinating affair. Fazil was a promising youngster looking to continue his momentum into a UFC deal; Brito was a seasoned veteran seeking to resolve old scores.
Reasons why the second chance of Kaik Brito is important
Brito’s comeback was one of the main narratives of Week 2. Brito’s first shot on Contender Series failed to earn him a UFC deal, but his career following the event proved that the defeat wasn’t the end of his career.

Next up in the co-main event were Douglas Rodrigues and Trent Miller fighting in the middleweight division. Both fighters came into the fight with good professional records so this was yet another battle where the contract was a real possibility for the victor.
Hence, Rodrigues was 6-1 when he entered his fight with Miller who was 9-3 going into the match. The advantage here was that Miller was fighting in his hometown, Vegas!

He was 10-1 at the time, and Perez held a 14-2 pro ledger. Those numbers instantly accounted for why it was one of the more interesting fights of the night.
Perez had represented Mexico in the past, had been fighting professionally for some time and entered the show, and Paxton’s record proved that he was already a real threat to the lightweight division.
Lightweight is among the most competitive divisions in MMA. It can be very beneficial for a player to shine at 155 lbs during the Contender Series. Because if he earns a UFC contract there, he steps into an immensely competitive division.

Alik Lorenz eyes comeback on Mahamed Aly
Here’s another good story line in the Alik Lorenz-Mahamed Aly light heavyweight fight. Both of these fighters had fought on Season 9 of the Contender Series with both suffering quick defenses and that meant the Week 2 fight was a chance for both guys to change history.
Lorenz, 7-2 at the time, was fighting out of The MMA Lab in Arizona. He had built quite a reputation for himself as a dangerous finisher in the time leading up to this fight so his return was definitely one of the more interesting come back stories on the night.
Aly entered the contest with a record of 5-1 meaning both the fighters were experienced enough to know what’s on the line.
Getting on the Contender Series twice can be a lot tougher as expectations are raised following your initial shot. The UFC has seen what you’re capable of, the question now is whether the loss was just a blip in your record or not.

The first fight started off with Toner Trembley going up against Roman Puga at featherweight.
Trembley was undefeated at 7-0, Puga held a record of 5-1.
An undefeated prospect is always going to get eyes on him but the Contender Series has shown time and time again that a professional record means nothing without the skills and experience to back it up. And that is exactly what Trembley had to do on Tuesday night.
