Aya Sakura

Sayaka Kurara

Anne Kanaya

What was unique about the main event was that it was Anne Kanaya’s last test in STARDOM.

Instead of just being yet another tag team match, the battle signaled an important step in Kanaya’s evolution. As one of three newcomers, teaming with the likes of Sakura and Kurara against a formidable elder team of Natsupoi, Saori Anou and Yuna Mizumori proved to be a great test of not only her strength but of her resolve.

Natsupoi and Saori Anou had held titles before, part of a perennially strong set of uppercard and main event wrestlers in STARDOM. That made this match a grueling challenge for Anne Kanaya at the start of her career, and set the scene for how she might react to wrestling the best of the best.

The sense of emotional importance surrounding the game only heightened the expectation that the game would headline the event.

Biggest Matches to Watch

There were many contests that I knew before the event started that were must watch bouts.

The Fight for the Future of Stardom Championship was obviously even more significant because titles always give more incentive and squeeze. For the younger stars, the title is a call card to determine their entire career through being beaten for it; in the case of the opposites, it’s just a chance to relaze your career.

One of the most talked about elements of the Anne Kanaya Final Examination was the overall concept and how much it was emotionally invested in. Wrestling fans enjoy matches where there is a strong mixture of athletic competition and a reason/character motivation.

At the same time, the eight-woman tag team was full of some of STARDOM’s quickest and most skilled competitors, ensuring some exciting exchanges at the start.

Wrestlers Expected to Make an Impact

There were strong performances by several competitors who entered the competition with a lot of momentum.

Syuri continued to be one of the promotion’s most revered veterans due her eye-catching in-ring skills and for being a former champion.

Hazuki ranked North American for her intensity inside the ring and her ability to perform in the main event.

Saya Kamitani once again made a major appearance at Korakuen Hall looking to flex her muscles to the fans and remind the followers what she still is as far as the promotion is concerned.

Top young girls like Ranna Yagami, Miku Kanae, HANAKO, Miyu Amasaki also found ways to help themselves as the opportunity arose by showing up for their matches at Korakuen Hall.

Why This Event Matters

Minutes after the first gunshot, almost every fight, besides one, had future possibility of forming great rivalries and big title shots. Even though the card only had one championship fight in it, I believe it has the potential to affect the future…

More often than not, Korakuen Hall is where stories push forward in STARDOM. A stellar performance can send a newcomer up the ladder, while toppling a veteran can see a side given a shot at the belts.

June 30th also demonstrated how STARDOM has combined the old and new; the old, in this case, being the more established, experienced wrestlers and the new would be the younger generation learning new skills. The veterans having helped raise the level of wrestling, the lower down the card the promotion went it gave the up and coming wrestlers the chance to perform on one of Japan’s most renowned wrestling stages.

With championship implications and emotional storytelling, competitive tag team action, and a card topped by topnotch performers, STARDOM NIGHTER in KORAKUEN gave fans all they wanted heading into one of Stardom’s biggest summer Korakuen Hall events.

The inaugral event felt important spiritually as well as paddling wise;

On the final day of Anne Kanaya’s final test, she found herself in one of the most significant matches she would work on in her emerging record as she teamed with Aya Sakura and Sayaka Kurara to take on a trio of veteran opponents headed by Natsupoi.

Good effort by Anne Kanaya. It was a tough game but she fought hard against every ball even if the team was an experienced one from the beginning.

This proved to be the turning point as Natsupoi used her Fairy Ring finishing move to secure the pin over Anne Kanaya.

They may have not won the game, but the match proved a noteworthy indicator of Anne Kanaya’s own steady progress and that she was gaining experience from matches against some of the best in STARDOM.
