Therefore their encounter had the air of a crossroads match: one wrestler would carry on in the tournament, the other’s road was at an end.

Saya Iida causes the shock result!
The biggest upset of the night was Saya Iida defeating AZM in the first round of the Red Stars playoff.
AZM had finished third in Red Stars A and was steeped in tournament experience heading into the show. She had also made the final of the 2025 5STAR GP, only to be defeated by Momo Watanabe. Iida, however, was able to prevent AZM from making another run toward the final.
That win meanwhile put Iida directly into the quarterfinal against Maika.
The quarterfinal was not further upset. Maika advances to put an end to Iida’s run and keep the 2024 tournament winner in the game.
Maika’s result was decisive in that she was the leading Red Stars A in the playoffs. Her result in the open round allowed her to bypass the open round and then beat Iida to reach one match away from the tourney final.
Ruaka wins over Hanan ahead of Suzu Suzuki match
Another one was Ruaka who caused an upset by knocking out Hanan in their playoff match.
Hanan had been second in Blue Stars B with nine, and Ruaka third in Blue Stars A with eight. In theory, Hanan’s higher tally provided some context for her file, but once in the playoff bracket, both came into contention equally.
Ruaka capitalized on the opportunity and earned herself the right to face Suzu Suzuki in the quarter-finals.
That meets was the most intriguing, as Suzuki was the top scorer in the Blue Stars A class. She took first place with 13 points, and had a direct path to the quarter finals.
Suzuki managed to get through the challenge and proceed to the semi-finals, whereas the surprise package Ruaka was eliminated.
Drama as Rina gets to the last four
The story of Rina making the semifinals was yet another significant thread coming out of Korakuen Hall.
First, she got past Yamashita Rina in the playoff round. With that victory, she advanced to the quarter-finals against the Red Stars B Block Winner, Konami.
Rina then defeated Konami making it through one of the hardest paths through the tournament.
Unlike Maika and Suzu Suzuki, Rina was not given a bye. She had to endure twice the wrestling during the night, and had to face elimination in each match, that she survived it says much about her.

This stands as one of the best examples of just how tough the format was. You got a free in round position if you won your block, but it was no sure thing to make the semis.
