WWE LFG Season 3 Episode 19 Preview for August 23

On the first Sunday in September 2026, WWE LFG Season 3 was back for another 10-minute episode featuring the Future Greats looking for a bright future within WWE. Titled “Parents & Future Greats” (episode listing), the theme of this episode featured family members getting a sneak peek of the wrestlers’ growth in the WWE Performance Center.

For fans tuning in for WWE LFG Season 3 8/23/26, the episode was particularly compelling as the series had adopted a new format, different from the one used in the first two seasons. Season 3 no longer employs the team-and-points style of competition from the past; rather, the series documents Future Greats as they go through training, competitions, criticisms and attempts to win over WWE coaches and management that they are prepared for larger roles.

A&E has up now is that WWE LFG is a docuseries where emerging wrestlers train and work alongside WWE icons and established stars. Season 3 can be viewed on A&E and airs on Sundays.

The August 23 episode was also one that occurred at a key point in the season. Several Future Greats had already received big opportunities, but the rest of the class was still fighting to get noticed. That makes these latest matches more than fillers. They can truly shape how each coach sees each wrestler.

What WWE LFG Season 3 Is About

WWE LFG- If you’re wondering what does WWE LFG stands for- it’s Legends & Future Greats. These series show fans, the journey of the potential new WWE stars.

Season 3 shifted away from this formula, with 3 being a stark contrast to the first 2 seasons. The first 2 seasons focused on battles and overall teamwork, where the groups of Future Greats competed with points and eliminations finally deciding who will survive.

Rather on opportunity and development.

The Future Greats must prove that they are able to work all facets of the professional game. That is, in-ring competency, character development, promo ability, camaraderie, discipline, and the way they react when the coaches put them to the test.

This change also helps the show dedicate more time to each character. Instead of just being a part of a team in the context of the game, the players are shown how each Future Great responds to stress and attack.

They still play a key role in the development process. Booker T and Bubba Ray Dudley are back mentoring, but there are new coaches in the form of Kevin Owens and Natalya. Having everyone in the same place allows the Future Greats to work with different generations and styles.

Parents and Future Greats Bring Family Focus

The focus of the August 23 show was family – the connection between the Future Greats and their loved ones.

The episode listing at the homepage calls it “Parents & Future Greats” and some of the competitors’ parents are visiting to check out the action and see what their kid is fighting for.

That configuration provides a different emotional twist to the episode than a typical wrestling match.

For a lot of young wrestlers, making it to the WWE isn’t just about making a big career move. It might also be about fulfilling something their families have been watching them strive for all along. When fans travel to the Performance Center with the Future Greats, we get to see how they overcome that pressure.

The family factor can pile pressure.

A wrestler might be okay with his coach criticizing him, but being put on display for parents offers a whole other set of emotional hurdles. The Future Greats are trying to impress the WWE guys, but they’re also trying to impress their family members.

That makes the August 23 episode even more valuable for fans who enjoy the reality-TV aspect of WWE LFG just as much as the in-ring action.

Bubba Ray Dudley Challenges Harley Riggins

Another key plot detail added to the show was the storyline of Bubba Ray Dudley and Harley Riggins.

In each episode details indicating that Coach Bubba Ray has an effort to balance Harley Riggins’ mischiefs.

Riggins is billed as a world class personality ready to bring his A game to the Performance Center. That works in the world of wrestling, but our WWE coaches need to know if a Future Great can turn the personality on and off when needed.

Thus Bubba Ray is not limited to the tutelage of wrestling techniques.

Having been a World Champion in his career and a WWE Hall of Famer, he too knows the value of presentation. A wrestler needs the connection with a crowd however is also needs the knowledge of a locker room.

That lesson is here. August 23.

Harley isn’t really trying to become less charismatic. He’s trying to master it and use it to the advantage of the character rather than it being a distraction.

This is precisely the sort of development WWE LFG aims to track.

Shady Elnahas Faces Pressure From His Coach

Another notable story line is Shady Elnahas that gets more and more attention from Bubba Ray Dudley.

According to the episode description Bubba Ray is “[lighting a fire]” under Shady Elnahas, hinting that it is the coach, not the player, who believes in the talent but is disappointed with what we have seen so far.

This kind of coaching can be very valuable to a growing wrestler.

Different future greats require different treatment. There’s those who need “Nurture”, and those who need “Nurture” by the threat of Knuckles. Bubba Ray seems to be toying with Shady, that latter category.

So the message is clear: potential is not enough.

He is not looking for one specific thing, he wants to see several qualities in the wrestler. Those qualities include consistency, confidence, and knowing how to react when the situation isn’t perfect. If a coach is forcing a little more, he can then determine if this Future Great wants the chance or just the lifestyle of wrestling.

That tension only further increases the August 23 episode.

WWE LFG Match Action Remains Central

Even with all the reality-TV ingredients found in the show, the heart of the series is still wrestling.

The Future Greats are frequently put into matches created for the purpose of examining their performances. So the coaches can see how they react under pressure, if they “know” the timing and storytelling, and can communicate effectively with the opposition.

One thing that season 3 has also showcased is an extensive roster of up and coming wrestlers. Some of those that can be seen on the show include Harley Riggins, Shady Elnahas, Harlem Lewis, Myka Lockwood, Tristan Angels, Layla Diggs, Dorian Van Dux and Braxton Cole.

The August 23 programming built on that development.

What is fascinating about LFG is that a wrestler does not have to win every time to develop. A good effort can still be enough to please a coach and a win can be a nightmare if it reveals a lack of effort or a loss of control by the wrestler.

That is then always part of a bigger process of what is being assessed.

The Season 3 Coaching Structure Adds Pressure

The coaching, obviously, is a huge factor in why S3 feels quite a bit off.

Booker T has many years of experience in the wrestling business and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to character development. Bubba Ray Dudley is a pioneer of the tag team division and a source of wrestling knowledge, not just in WWE but from decades in the business. Kevin Owens is an active WWE Superstar with a thorough knowledge of the modern wrestling landscape, while Natalya has long experience in WWE’s women’s division.

Since the Future Greats now go on to receive feedback from people who are very different to their base reader,

It’s not always easy.

Everyone has people that love you and people that hate you, and learning how to take other’s opinions about you is another step in the process.

WWE LFG Season 3 is now less about seeing who gets the most and more about who can truly evolve into the complete wrestler.

Why August 23 Was Important for WWE LFG

As of August 23, three weeks into season 3, most of the Future Greats had already been training for several months.

This meant the audience had more background on the characters.

If episodes aired early in the season before the new structure was established, we saw the new structure and the wrestlers. Episodes aired later in the season could then focus more on the relationships, rivalries, coaching decisions and the journeys of individual wrestlers.

That falls within the chronology of that story. The episode from August 23rd is part of that chronology.

Having parents present is a chance to position the Future Greats outside of the common training grounds. The coaches may not have been around when these wrestlers came into their lives, but the family has.

This will make their response especially significant.

Where to Watch WWE LFG Season 3

WWE LFG Season 3 is broadcast on A&E. This season is available for viewing on Sunday evenings. If you would like to view the channel’s official website, check out the official WWE LFG page on A&E’s site. Episodes and other extras are viewable there.

The listings for the episodes have August 23 consistently slated for the show’s standard Sunday night time slot. TV Insider indicates that Episode 19, “Parents & Future Greats” is scheduled for August 23, while there is another episode listing that has Episode 20, “Trial By Fire” slated for the August 23 date.

This is important to mention because WWE LFG episode listings have at times used alternate episode numbering and scheduling. If you want to locate the August 23 broadcast, search by episode title and date, not just episode number.

What Fans Should Expect From This Episode

In the August 23 episode of WWE LFG Season 3 he titled it “Amateurs on the Rise” was billed as, “an episode about personal relationships and professional growth.

The family visits offer an emotional angle, but the guiding hand of Bubba Ray Dudley in the coaching of Harley Riggins and Shady Elnahas reminds us what this is all really about inside WWE.

That blend is what sets LFG apart from your typical wrestling program.

There are matches, but there are repercussions. Coaches watch. Parents respond.

Life as a future great is about handling expectations, managing stress and absorbing criticism.

An outstanding match can elevate a wrestler’s reputation, while a bad one can raise new doubts about his readiness.

For those keeping pace with the season, 23 August was yet another milestone in the process of identifying Future Greats in the career path of wrestlers who are becoming the next wave of WWE nominees and those who have a long road ahead.

The end goal is still the same: show that you deserve a place in the new class of WWE superstars.

That trip is being chronicled on a more personal level thanks to Season 3’s more character-driven format, as each person is given their own episode in the place of an eliminations contest, providing a window into the characters and capacities of WWE’s farm system.

WWE LFG Season 3 Results for August 23

On Sunday, August 23, 2026, WWE LFG Season 3 featured two new episodes, both of which focused on the Future Greats trying to make the best impression on WWE coaches. The first show was called “Parents & Future Greats,” with the second entitled “Trial By Fire.” Both shows were scheduled for August 23, which meant it was a pretty crucial night for those watching the show.

Our debut episode revolved around Family, Coaching, and multi in-ring assessments. Our second episode entered a more heated environment as we sat down with Coach Bloom for his evaluation of us and our commitment to Family, see the beginning of an alliance between Tristan Angles and Myka Lockwood, and were present for three matches by some of World’s Best Future Greats.

In season 3 however, instead of the traditional old team-and-points format, A&E class the season as; ‘this is a new version of LFG; no teams, no points, immediate NXT-contract competition. Instead, the show now focuses on the indivual development of the PC Athletes and their capacity to adapt to the pressure of becoming WWE Superstars’.

Parents & Future Greats Episode Results

The first August 23 edition was in the form of a family night. Several Future Greats had their parents in attendance to witness the show, giving a rather more intimate atmosphere in the WWE Performance Center.

According to the official synopsis, the episode features three main stories. Bubba Ray Dudley teamed up with Harley Riggins to try and reign in Riggins’s hijinx, as well as push for more. Kevin Owens coached Kali Armstrong to develop a more heelish attitude for her match against Nikkita Lyons. Booker T teamed with Romeo Moreno prior to a match between Moreno and the brute Kam Hendrix.

This mixture meant that the show was quite different from simply being a wrestling show. Although it was the matches that mattered it was also the coaching, because it was possible to hear the perspective of the WWE veterans assessing the young wrestlers.

Kali Armstrong Faces Nikkita Lyons

Kali Armstrong vs. Nikkita Lyons one of the matches from the first episode.

The entire story with Armstrong was pretty much the reverse of her character building. Owens gave her a task to find her heel, rather than just telling her to get the win in the match.

This distinction is vital in professional wrestling. A Future Great must realize that it’s not about what moves to do in the ring, but rather, why should the crowd care about the match in the first place.

By practicing with Owens, Armstrong had the opportunity to express a more aggressive nature. Her upcoming bout with Lyons was to be the ultimate test as to whether her body would be able to turn her coach’s instruction into reality.

For those who follow WWE LFG, this is one of the primary advantages of Season 3. Not only does it show who wins and who loses, but it reveals also how the coaches are working to forge the identities of the students.

Romeo Moreno Battles Kam Hendrix

The other big match saw Romeo Moreno take on Kam Hendrix with Booker T helping Moreno train.

It was a stark contrast. Moreno was showing his slick, improvisational style and step up toward the more dominant looking competitor Hendrix.

Booker T’s writing course on the ep summary called photographing “magic on the canvas” when Moreno went up against Hendrix.

Booker has a broad range of experience in all sorts of different types of wrestling which makes his style relevant. He tends to be as much about voice, rhythm, character and crowd dynamic rather than technical mastery.

Hendrix was also arriving into the show riding a wave of momentum from his recent WWE developmental runs. WWE.com recognizes him as an NXT Superstar and notes his recent wins and appearances such as his 11 August NXT win over Mason Rook.

That was what made the Moreno one even more meaningful as he was not encountering just another inexperienced trainee with no momentum.

Bubba Ray Dudley Pushes Harley Riggins

First episode of August 23, another key in the first episode was the Harley Riggins.

Bubba Ray Dudley’s job was to teach Riggins how charisma can be a liability if it is misused. Riggins needs to temper his inherently hyper personality as a performer; professional wrestling is based on manipulating personality.

Bubba Ray’s coaching was consequently to discipline.

This would be a good lesson for a young wrestler to learn as WWE Superstars are required to act different ways in different situations. They are serious in a match, hilarious on a backstage segment, scary in a fight and helpless in a storyline.

Being capable of traversing those feelings is definitely a work in progress.

Shady Elnahas Gets A Strong Coaching Push

Bubba Ray was also concentrating on Shady Elnahas, as he was trying to motivate more from the future great.

Blogger posting the August 23 show description reports that Bubba Ray was “stoking the fires” under Elnahas.

That would indicate the coach observed something to nurture but was asking for greater urgency from Elnahas.

Natural talent can only take a wrestler so far in the WWE developmental system. When you are coaching someone, you need to be convinced they are capable of listening to criticism, and adapting accordingly.

Elnahas’ narrative thus takes on one of the major motifs of Season 3: it’s about trying to take the raw materials of talent and shape it into a world class act.

Trial By Fire Brings More Pressure

The second new episode on August 23 was “Trial By Fire”. But this time it was more about more rigorous test and harsher criticisms.

According to the episode preview, Coach Bloom tore into Dorain Van Dux after his bout with Braxton Cole. The episode also featured Tristan Angles and Myka Lockwood as they sought to build up their friendship and tag team partnership in hopes of getting noticed by management and fans.

That episode included three advertised matches:

Dorain Van Dux vs. Braxton Cole

Myka Lockwood vs. Layla Diggs

Tristan Angles vs. Harlem Lewis

The mash-up provided a more diverse perspective of the variety of Future Greats. Some were facing direct critique, and others were fighting to prove their worth through partnerships and tour clashes.

Dorain Van Dux Takes On Braxton Cole

The first story line of “Trial By Fire” was about Dorain Van Dux and Braxton Cole.

The match was important because Van Dux did not only have to perform, but also had to cope with the subsequent evaluation.

Coach Bloom’s scathing invective was one of the episode’s major plot points. As a budding wrestler, getting criticism post-match can be much more instructive than encouragement..

The vital question for Van Dux is then how he reacts.

A Future Great who is defensive or dismissive of coaching may have difficulty advancing, whereas a Future Great who takes feedback, applies improvements, and learns from a bad performance can turn a setback into a valuable learning opportunity.

Exactly. So, the “Trial By Fire” idea just makes sense for this episode.

Myka Lockwood Faces Layla Diggs

Myka Lockwood v. Layla Diggs was the second episode’s other advertised match.

The match was also related to the developing duo of Lockwood and Tristan Angles. They appeared together in the ring, and also both appeared individually outside of the ring to potentially impress WWE officials and the WWE viewing public.

That is yet another lesson that relationship in professional wrestling is best avoided.

Tag teams and partnerships are not successful just because the wrestlers in it are best friends. They need to have good chemistry, compliment eachothers styles and make eachother look good.

Lockwood’s singles match against Diggs thus gave her an opportunity to show what she could do on her own, while the broader story of her relationship with Angles developed outside.

Tristan Angles Meets Harlem Lewis

The Action of the second episode was Tristan Angles vs. Harlem Lewis.

The match had more significance due to the interpromotional story concerning Angles and Myka Lockwood. Both wrestlers would like to get noticed by getting Angles over while simultaneously forming a tag-team alliance that benefits both.

Harlem Lewis, on the other hand, was thrown into the role of out-of-place competitor, thereby creating tension and raising the stakes for the fight.

The main-event placement provided Angles with a stage to see if he could shine when the spotlight was brightest. Opportunities like these mean something to the Future Greats because the WWE coaches and management are always testing the limits to see who’s able to perform under pressure.

Where to Watch WWE LFG on August 23

The WWE LFG Season 3 is on A&E, with episodes on Sundays. The official show page for A&E lists three seasons and provides a description of the program as an inside look at the making of WWE’s next generation of stars.

It was also a lot more difficult to read the schedule for August 23 than it has been for other days, since two new LFG editions came on the same night. Pro Wrestling Dot Net reported that the first new edition went on at 9 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CT with the second new edition following.

The TV listings also list both “Parents & Future Greats” and “Trial By Fire” as new episodes for August 23.

We know that the numbering can sometimes vary depending on the TV guide, especially for viewers trying to find the right episode, the titles are more useful than just their numbering in the end.

What Comes Next for the Future Greats

On August 23, the episodes continued to develop individual stories instead of an elimination tournament.

So the key thing is not really “has a given FG won a match” but more “is this wrestler good enough for us to move them on to the next step.

The format of the show also make coaching particularly relevant. WWE veterans such as Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, Kevin Owens are able to pick up areas of weakness which may not be apparent to viewers watching the match as shown.

A similar concept has also gained the likes of WWE superstars. WWE.com profiles Mae Steell (Tyra Mae) stating that she emerged victorious in the first season of LFG and was mentored by The Undertaker before winning an NXT contract.

Season 3’s future greats have a natural target with that history.

Why August 23 Was Important for WWE LFG

Highlights from the August 23 triple-header, sums up nicely everything special about the third season.

‘Parents & Future Greats’ involved the family unit in the process, whereas ‘Trial By Fire’ had a far higher level of criticism, pressure and performance. The programme as a whole provided a fine mixture of both the emotional and physiological sides of being a professional wrestler.

Kali Armstrong focused on developing his work as a more powerful heel. After helping Kam Hendrix prepare for his match against Romeo Moreno, Booker T helped Romeo and told him to choose how he wanted to respond to the challenge. Harley Riggins was given instructions to help him rein in his personality, and Shady Elnahas was told to be more aggressive. Episode 2 increased the pressure on Myka Lockwood, Tristen Angles and Dorain Van Dux.

That means WWE LFG Season 3 on August 23, 2026 is more than just another night of developmental wrestling. It becomes a demonstration of how WWE strives to transform talented PC Athletes into well-rounded performers, with coaches evaluating various aspects such as in-ring performance, character development, attitude, and flexibility.

One thing that hardcore viewers will take away from this season of The Future Greats is that no single match is going to get you from the Performance Center to WWE television. Instead, the Future Greats will need to continually improve, overcome the critics and develop a rapport with the fans in the process.
